The Book Baton

I’ve been passed a book baton (yes, another baton) by Christian (Trench) over at 7milesdown, and since I don’t have any fresh content anyway, let’s pretend like this is interesting. Well, at least as interesting as anything else you read on this site. Set your standards low.
Number of Books on Shelf
I’d say somewhere around 500-600. And, they’re all in boxes taking up one wall of the garage since the move. I’m planning on purchasing some new bookshelves as soon as I figure out how I want to decorate the office/study.
Last Book Purchased
We picked up Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this past weekend.
Book Reading Right Now
I just finished the new Harry Potter last night.
Last 5 Books Read
Hmm…I’ve been so busy lately that I can’t remember that far back. How about the last three? I just finished HP, and before that I finally read The Time Machine, and before that I was reading Lies My Teacher Told Me.
Books That Mean A Lot To Me
This is always difficult to determine. I’m going to realize later that I forgot to list something that I really love. And, with my books still packed up, I don’t have anything to jog my memory. I used to read novels more when I was younger, but I’ve mostly read non-fiction history books over the past few years.
So anyway, here are a couple of books (that I can think of) that are really special to me.
- The Narnia Chronicles – C.S. Lewis
- Where the Red Fern Grows – Wilson Rawls
- Goodbye to a River – John Graves
- I Am Legend – Richard Matheson
- A Separate Peace – John Knowles
I’ll attempt to pass this along to…
