I think clubbing sounds like a great idea! I blame the crankerousness (haha) on the fact that men are pigs. Oink.

You bring up a few valid and hilarious points Jeff. Kind of reminds me of that about page you used to have. Personally, I find working to be a pretty crappy experience. I'm trying to find a way to stop doing it altogether.

In the two most rewarding jobs I've held in my career, one was reporting to a man and one was reporting to a woman. And I've had lousy experiences with both too. Of my crappy experiences, more have been with women bosses, but my female bosses have far outnumbered my male bosses, so it's tough to draw a conclusion.

I guess I'd just rather call my own shots. But what if I didn't like the gender of my boss then? Expensive, painful, embarrassing surgery would be required. My wife would be pissed. My parents would be upset. My dogs might not recognize me. And I still might not like my boss's gender on the other side, which would be a real bummer.

Confusing.

No, I don't think it's the result of a warped perpection by any means. I also prefer reporting to women for the reason that I feel more comfortable around a manager who is a female over one who is male. Likewise, when the manager in question is male and sports an attitude I want to find the biggest caveman club and well, club him.

I don't feel the same way about crankerous females. Instead of imagining "clubbing" them, I just realize it's probably the result of PMS, etc. etc. That's not to be misinterpreted as a "sexist" comment either but rather just an observation.
