Oh yeah, In-and-Out is the champagne of fast food. They get props in the SuperSize Me DVD extras for using real food where the major chains use super-processed, food-ish, "materials". It's not healthy by any stretch, but it's at least something your body can break down properly (according to the DVD).

And it's darn good... and comparitively cheap too.

You know, I had an In-and-Out Burger for the first time a couple of years ago when we were visiting Nicole's grandparents in Bullhead City. We drove down to Lake Havasu and wandered around for a few hours. I was impressed. Nicole grew up in California and had always said they made the best burgers, and she was probably right. I emailed the company to ask when they were expanding to Austin...haha.

Great list...I have the 2nd the nomination of Garden State for movie of the year. I'd give Hero a vote too... just a beautiful film, but like Clay says, it plods along.

Super Size Me was excellent, and gets a spot on my personal list. Don't watch it unless/until you're ready to write-off all fast food from your life (with the exception of In-and-Out Burger).

I agree, all of these movies deserve an award for their achievement in stellar movie making. I thought Garden State was excellent if not a bit quirky and strange as well. I think it represented certain emotions in life and in doing so it struck a chord in those who saw it. When I met author Joshua Braff (brother of Zach Braff), I attempted to stray away from mentioning his brother's achievements but you could tell deep down he was just as proud of his brother as his brother was proud of him.

Spideman 2 was without a doubt the best superhero movie, you certaintly hit it on the head there. Just watching the movie you can't help but feel your adrenaline rising and falling, depending on the sequences. Maguire nailed the part of Spiderman and successfully conveys the inner conflict of Peter Parker. Sam Raimi as the director outdid himself for the second movie and managed to include certain aspects of his previous films, Evil Dead and Army of Darkness come to mind.

The Incredibles was well, incredible. Everything from the art direction, fantastic CGI and writing was top notch. Not only was it entertaining, it was also hilarious (in both a humorous and madcap Looney Tunes way) and thought provoking. To the point where I'd love to see a sequel made for it and that's saying alot for the quality of the film. Brad Bird rocks and I can't wait for his rumored "Ray Gunn" movie with Pixar which is reportedly going to use traditional 2D animation. I say bring it on!

Again, a great list and I hope every one of these films is recognized in some way or another for their excellent writing and production values.

I thought that Shaun of the Dead started strong and had a terrible last 1/4. Hero has absolutely stunning cinematography, but was so. long. and. drawn. out. that. i. thought. it would. never. end.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is definitely worth seeing. Check out Iron Monkey, too.

I can't argue with those rankings Clay. They were all great movies. Well, except for the porn movie with my momma. That was better than average, but not best of the year.

I didn't see Shaun of the Dead, but I've heard it's very good. The trailer for Hero looked fantastic, but I missed it. I still need to see Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

I keep reading that it's been a weak Oscar year, but I've seen a lot of really great films.

I would have to add, Shaun of the Dead. The best romantic comedy with zombies I have ever seen. Umm... probably the only one I have seen. But it was quite good. Don't know if I would put it in the top five, but probably the top ten.

Hero, I would stick in the top five, maybe even a number 1 or 2. It is an excellent movie, quite moving and the use of color was amazing.

Blargh! Actually, I agree with you, except my order would be:
1. The Incredibles (yes, I thought it was that good)
2. ESOTSM
3. Garden State
<strike>4. That porn movie with your mamma</strike>
4. Spiderman 2
5. The Bourne Supremacy (I'm a fan of the books).

Sideways was really good, but didn't satisfy my juvenile sense of explosions. I had to pretend I was actually my age while watching it.

Blurriest movie of the year award goes to Sky Captain and the Spectacles of Yesteryear.
