The Fightin Texas Aggies
This is one of my rare entries about local events. Based on the site stats, most of my readers are from outside of Texas, so feel free to ignore this post completely.
The Texas A&M Aggie football team picked up an important win over Wyoming today. During the struggles of the past few years, much has been written about the loss of talent and the time it takes to rebuild, but a large part of the problem has also been a lack of confidence and teamwork. While far from perfect, the Aggies showed real improvement today, and have a foundation to continue to grow this season. Yes, they are going to lose a number of games. Their youth, inexperience, and nightmare of a schedule make that inevitable. But as long as they find a way to grow and improve from week to week, the future will continue to look bright.
Oh, and as long as I’m on a local bent, how about Camino Real over on Spicewood Springs Road in Austin? They might have the best migas tacos in the city, and that’s saying a hell of a lot.
