Beware of Cat

I’m not trying to turn this into a comic blog (I much prefer to grumble about politics), but is there an adult in America that watched the Catwoman trailer and didn’t immediately realize the movie was going to suck?

Oh, I’m sure it seemed like a great idea. Take a comic book character that hasn’t been properly fleshed out in the movies (or even represented, considering that this is not the Selina Kyle Catwoman), hire a big star with Halle Berry’s looks and skill (she did win an Oscar), and for good measure, throw in an over the top actress (Sharon Stone) to play an over the top villan. Am I loving the parentheses or what? Personally I think the casting director should have been fired before the movie started filming, but the real problem is impossibly bad dialogue, horrible acting, and an insipid plot.

It almost sounds like I’ve seen this train wreck, but I haven’t. No, I’m taking a page out of the Republican playbook and criticizing that which I have not seen (or read, as the case may be). Sadly, in this instance, the stench is so bad that I don’t need to check for vital signs. It’s D.O.A.
