  • Your Wedding News
This is the online home for all news related to Jonathan and Joanne’s wedding. I don’t know either of them, but this site has a really unique design and great content. I wonder if wedding sites of this nature will catch on? Maybe they already have and I don’t know about it. Seems like a business designing “wedding sites” could be lucrative.
  • The CSS Vault
I know plenty of people have heard of this site, but there are probably plenty more that haven’t. It’s part of the 9rules Network run by Paul Scrivens, who writes the Whitespace blog. I’ve spent hours here just looking at the designs.
  • Online Favicon Generator
Yes, there are plenty of ways to create a favicon, but this site doesn’t require any software. Upload your graphic in one of the usual formats (.gif, .jpeg, etc.) and it spits out your favicon. Perfect.
  • Armadillo Aerospace
This company, based in Mesquite, TX (muh-skeet), is a small aerospace startup lead by John Carmack, the co-founder of id Software (remember DOOM?). It’s staffed by volunteers from other companies, and their goal is to build a spacecraft capable of carrying at least 3 people (or 1 human plus equivalent) to at least 100 kilometers, twice within 2 weeks. Up for grabs is the Ansari X-Prize, worth 10 million dollars to the first non-government team to succeed. Armadillo Aerospace is said to be using modern computer tech to solve many problems previously handled by mechanical engineering. The website has several interesting video files detailing their progress. Check it out.
