Into the light

I’m an Aggie. I’ve attended several schools, and will probably attend several more, but I will always be an Aggie. The conservative nature of the school often makes me feel like a fox in the henhouse, but at least I would fit in on the Battalion staff.
For a couple of years now I have routinely monitored the Amazon purchase circles for Texas A&M University and the University of Texas. They are almost always completely different. You would typically find similar educational material, but anything political was split straight down the conservative/liberal line.
What is interesting is that when I checked the list for A&M this weekend, two books were listed that caught me completely by surprise. Two books I’ve read. Gasp! The most conservative university in Texas is reading Bushwhacked and Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right.
This is the home of the George H.W. Bush presidential library. The same school that has made noise about landing the Shrub library. A place where the jocks say, “men like women”.
A sign? Is the core base starting to erode? After all of these years, Aggies reading material put out by the left wing conspiracy?? Truly shocking. That noise you hear is the collective sound of thousands of people pulling their heads out of their ass.
It’s about time.
